StateSt_ME.jpgState Street Methodist Episcopal Church stood on State Street in Watertown and was built in 1849. In the ensuing years, traffic and industry led the congregation to seek a quieter place for their church. The 1914, the church moved to the newly constructed Asbury Methodist Church on Franklin and Parker Streets. The State Street structure was eventually demolished. A Burger King restaurant now sits on this site.
