Woodruff Professional Building
The Woodruff Professional Building is the youngest structure on Public Square
, having been built in 1996. It sits on the site once occupied by the Woodruff House
Certain architectural features of the Woodruff House
(right) were incorporated into the design of the building. These include the deep red brick facade, archway and the two porthole windows above the arch. These features, as well as the building's name, stand as an homage to the Woodruff House
, one of the most important buildings to ever sit on Public Square
The building has been in use as a medical facility since it opened. The bottom floor, for a short time, housed a pharmacy, which was later converted into office space.
