All photos that make up these panoramas were taken using a Canon Powershot A570 IS or an Olympus
D-460Zoom digital camera (a few were done previously using an older model Polaroid digital),
an older model generic camcorder, a Canon ZR-500, or a Pencam. Other
equipment used regularly are a couple of tripods, bubble levels and a laser levels, a couple portable power packs as
well as an inverter for long-term setups. For processing, stitching,
and webpage creation I primarily use a mongrel computer of many different parts but
lots of power running WinXP Pro SP2 & Slackware LINUX, as well as a Winbook laptop
with XP Pro. Also used is an old eMachines with
lots of hardware mods running Win XP Pro and two old Dell
Latitude LM laptops running Win98SE, and various pieces of networking/wireless
networking. For software I use the older free version of the excellent
Panorama
Factory program,
Paint Shop Pro with a panorama building
plug-in,
Adobe Photo Shop, and Irfanview
(for batch processing of images mostly), QuickTime
QTVR Authoring Tools, and of course Helmut Dersch's Panorama
Tools & JAVA Display Applet, as well as lots of miscellaneous graphics
software.
Please note
that some of these take quite some time to load if you are on dial-up and/or on
older computers, if they don't seem to be doing anything give them a little
while. If you really have problems and you think a particular pano is not
working please let me know by e-mailing me at the link near the bottom of this
page. *JAVA means the pano page will load a JAVA applet onto your computer to display.
Make sure that you have JAVA installed before clicking on a JAVA panorama, otherwise
use the Quicktime version. To test whether you have JAVA installed
click
here. You can also download JAVA from the site in the link.
* QTVR means you must have
Quicktime installed on your
computer to display this kind of panorama. If you do not have Quicktime you may click
this link to download it.
If you have any suggestions for locations for panos let me know, I will probably
do them...
